自転車ロードレースチーム「TEAM LAMPRE-MERIDA」に新城幸也選手が移籍加入

株式会社ミヤタサイクル（本社：神奈川、代表取締役社長：高谷信一郎）が国内販売代理店を務める、MERIDAがサポートするUCIワールドツアーチーム「TEAM LAMPRE-MERIDA」に2016シーズンより新城 幸也選手が移籍加入することが決定いたしましたのでお知らせいたします。

The rising sun will shine on LAMPRE-MERIDA in 2016, thanks to the transfer of Yukia Arashiro who, after having signed an agreement with the team manager Brent Copeland, will became the first Japanese cyclist ever in the history of the blue-fuchsia-green team.

2016年ランプレ-メリダに新しい光が輝きます。新城 幸也が移籍して来てくれるお陰で。チームマネージャーのブレント・コープランドと契約を締結した後に、ブルー・フクシア・グリーンのチームの歴史で初めての日本人になります。

Arashiro, who was born in Ishigaki in 1984, is accustomed with records, being a rider who wrote the history of the Japanese professional cycling movement: he was the first Japanese cyclist to complete a Tour de France (2009), to be in the top 5 of a Grande Boucle’s stage (5th in the 2nd stage of the Tour de France 2009, Monaco-Brignoles) and to be in the top 3 of a Giro d’Italia’s stage (3rd in the Novara-Novi Ligure, 5th stage of the Giro 2010); moreover, he’s the only one Japanese rider who obtained a place in the top 10 of a Classic race (10th in the Amstel Gold Race 2014). Pro since 2006, he obtained 7 victories, participating in 5 Tour de France, 2 Giro d’Italia and 1 Vuelta a Espana.

新城は1984年に石垣島で生まれ。日本のサイクリングムーブメントの歴史を塗り替えたライダーです。彼はツール・ド・フランス(2009年)を完走した初めての日本人であり、Grande Boucle’s stage(Tour de France 2009, 第2ステージ Monaco-Brignoles 5位)でトップ5入りやジロ・デ・イタリア(ジロ・デ・イタリア第５ステージ Novara-Novi Ligure 3位)でトップ3入りなど記録しています。更にクラシックレース(アムステル・ゴールドレース2014　10位)でトップ10入りを果たした唯一の日本人ライダーです。2006年プロ入りし、7度の勝利とツール・ド・フランス5回、ジロ・デ・イタリア２回、ブエルタ・ア・エスパーニャ１回参戦しています。

“LAMPRE-MERIDA signed a cyclist who’s an icon of the Asian cycling, one of the most important athlete of the whole Japanese cycling history, a Counrty in which cycling is very popular - Brent Copeland explained - Arashiro extend towards high quality level the frontiers of the Asian cycling, obtaining important results and collecting experience. That are the reasons why he’s very appreciated in Europe and he’s loved in Japan: also thanks to Merida, we succeeded in signing the agreement which allow Yukiya to race in LAMPRE-MERIDA in 2016. Relying on his experience and his skills, which helped him to obtain the 17th place in the World Championship in Richmond, he’ll be for sure a quality additional rider for the blue-fuchsia-green group. Our team always received a warm support by the Japanese fans and it has a good tradition of participation, with 9 victories, in the Japanese races: we’re happy that in 2016 we’ll have for the first time a Japanese cyclist”.

ランプレ-メリダはアジアンサイクリングのアイコンとして契約しました。日本ではサイクリングはとても人気が高く、彼は日本サイクリングの歴史で、もっとも重要なアスリートの一人です。
ブレント・コープランドは説明しました。新城はアジアンサイクリングのレベルを引き上げます。重要な結果や豊富な経験も得ています。それが彼がヨーロッパで高く評価され、日本で愛されている理由です。
また、MERIDAのおがげで私達は幸也が2016シーズンにランプレ-メリダでレースをする契約を締結することに成功しました。
彼の経験とスキルによってリッチモンドでの世界選手権では17位という成績も得ています。
彼はブルー・フクシア・グリーングループにとって秀逸な新加入選手になると確信しています。
チームは常に日本ファンに温かいサポートを受けており、日本のレースに参加し9度の勝利をおさめるなどの実績があります。
